Just because I am pregnant, and in my third trimester, doesn’t mean I have given up my workouts. You can still have a healthy pregnancy and continue to do workouts and follow the Beach Body and 21 Day Fix program! Just see my instagram for inspiration!
Preparing for Exercise
The most important thing to remember is that your body is growing a person! That in of itself takes a lot of energy. Don’t be upset if you can’t do as many reps as quickly as you were able to before, or if you have to use lighter weights. The important thing is that you are keeping up healthy habits and that you are moving your body.
Make sure that you’ve talked to your OB-GYN about exercising and the level at which you are going to do it. Only workout if you have worked out before you got pregnant. Don’t jump right into it during your third trimester!
Listen to your body! If you are tired, take a break. If you aren’t strong enough, don’t do it. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Make sure you are working out in intervals and taking many rest breaks!
Make sure you avoid a lot of jumping, high-intensity workouts, and exercises that may cause abdominal trauma. Be very careful with twists and other core exercises, such as curlups or chin ups. Avoid contact sports and other exercises that may cause falling.
If you begin to feel pain, have vaginal bleeding, get cold and clammy, have an irregular heart beat get dizzy, or stop feeling fetal movement stop your workout IMMEDIATELY!!

Benefits of Working Out During Pregnancy
Keeping healthy habits, especially working out, during your pregnancy can help the overall health of your pregnancy! It builds strength to help fight aches and pains in your body (and help your muscles during delivery). It will help alleviate that annoying constipation. Exhaustion will be reduced, as will anxiety and stress. Working out during pregnancy will also help prevent extra weight gain and help control gestational diabetes.
