I have learned throughout the past few years that I can still have the same delicious tastes I want without having to eat poorly. I can eat more healthily by substituting alternatives to foods with more fat or sugar content!

- Have almonds rather than chocolate.
- Use avocado puree rather than butter or mayo.
- Eat brown rice rather than white rice.
- Eat quinoa rather than couscous or rice.
- Use lettuce leaves rather than bread or buns.
- Eat frozen and pureed bananas for ice cream! It’s delicious!
- Use Greek yogurt rather than sour cream.
- Use pureed fruit for syrup.
- Have mashed cauliflower rather than mashed potatoes.
- Eat corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas.
- Drink fruit infused water rather than fruit juice.
- Use fresh diced tomatoes rather than tomato sauce.
- Use Portobello mushroom caps for buns.
- Enjoy warm baked apples sprinkled with cinnamon rather than apple pie.
- Have peanuts rather than chips.
To Cook
- Use whole wheat flour rather than white flour.
- Use unsweetened applesauce rather than oil or butter.
- Use cauliflower rather than flour for crusts.
- Use spaghetti squash or other spiralized gourds (like zucchini) for noodles.
- Use olive oil instead of butter while cooking.
- Use ground flax seed and water rather than eggs.
- Use stevia or honey rather than sugar.
- Use coconut oil rather than vegetable oil.
- Use a banana instead of eggs.
- Use crushed nuts instead of breadcrumbs.
- Use black beans rather than flour.
