We grew up living very simply, didn’t have a lot of money, didn’t have a lot of fancy things, we never had video games, but we did have an old Atari set that we would play haha (anyone else even know what that is?!), but we made our own fun.
I remember playing in the back yard with my sisters, playing imaginary games, swinging on the tire swing, riding our bikes, and hiking in the woods.
Materialistic things do not determine happiness. If you’re not happy with yourself, no amount of money can fix that. This Christmas living on one income, Matty and I aren’t doing gifts to each other just a mooshy card. The thing I look forward to the most is reading how much the man I love, adores me. Words of affirmation is my love language, not gifts. I love hearing how much others care for me and love telling them how special they are as well.
I’ll try my best not to make Matt’s family cry this year, I think I have to tone my mooshiness down a notch haha.
I didn’t grow up celebrating holidays, and now that I do, I really try to focus on being in the moment and enjoying the ones you love. I encourage you to let others know how much they mean to you, be a little mooshy, and make memories! 🎁🎄❤
